Renewable Energy Avenel (RAE) is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible and inclusive for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to access information about our projects, events, and community initiatives regardless of their abilities, technology, or circumstances.

What web accessibility is

An accessible website ensures that all visitors, including those with disabilities, can navigate, understand, and interact with the site effectively. It means providing an inclusive online experience for everyone, regardless of their abilities or impairments.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

We aim to provide a website that is easy to navigate, understand, and use by following recognised accessibility principles and best practices wherever possible.

This website has been designed with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and we strive to achieve Level AA accessibility wherever practical. We are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website and to create an inclusive online experience for all visitors.

Accessibility Features:

To support accessibility, we have taken steps to:

  • Include alternative text for images where appropriate

  • Ensure links and buttons are clearly identifiable

  • Use colour combinations with sufficient contrast

  • Support access across a range of devices and browsers

  • Enable keyboard navigation where possible

  • Design pages to be responsive and accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing process. While we make every effort to ensure our website meets recognised accessibility standards, some content may not yet fully achieve these standards.

We regularly review our website and welcome feedback from users to help identify and address accessibility issues wherever possible.

Some areas of our website may contain content, documents, or links provided by third-party organisations. While we encourage accessibility best practices, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of content that is not under our direct control.

Renewable Energy Avenel (RAE) is a community-led organisation formed in 2020, driven by growing concerns around rising power bills and the environmental impact of fossil fuels. We exist to support residents of Avenel and surrounding areas to transition to cleaner, more affordable renewable energy. By providing education, financial support, and practical projects, we aim to reduce household energy costs while protecting the planet for future generations.

Registered Charity

Renewable Energy Avenel (RAE) acknowledges the Taungurung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our community lives and works. We recognise their continuing connection to Country and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
